Privacy Policy

EduMates is a service operated by 3MP Enterprises LLP (“We”).

This privacy policy applies to current partners and prospective partners.

  1. How we process your data

At EduMates we hold and process data to support our sales and business processes. This includes data about clients and partners, and prospective clients and partners. Data we hold includes contact details and information about the communication we’ve had with you (emails, phone calls, meetings etc.)

If you are an existing client or partner (by which we mean you work for an existing client/partner in a role relevant and connected to what we do), then naturally you’ll expect to hear from us about new, developments, updates, events etc. that are relevant to your role. We will keep in touch with you on a 1-2-1 basis, by phone and email, and via our e-newsletters. If at any point you don’t want to be contacted, just let us know (see s.5 below).

If you are a prospective client or partner who we have initiated contact with, we’ll have been in touch with you because your professional role at your institution is directly related to the work of EduMates. We will have your details because:

  • We’ve looked specifically for you on your organisation’s website, or via social media like LinkedIn, or
  • You are a delegate at a relevant Higher Education conferences we are attending, and we can see from your job title that EduMates should be of interest to you, or
  • We’ve received a personal referral to you from another client or prospective client (or one of your colleagues), or
  • We’ve met you at an HE events or conferences, or
  • We actually know you (we are pretty well connected in the world of student recruitment!)

We’ll only ever send you information specifically relevant to your role at the institution, and we will keep in touch with you on a 1-2-1 basis, by phone and email, and via our e-newsletters. And if you don’t want to hear from us, just let us know (see s.5 below).

If you have requested information via our website, we’ll have given you a nice clear ‘opt-in’ to receive our newsletter. If you didn’t opt in, you’ll only ever receive direct, personal 1-2-1 communication from us. And of course, you can let us know if you don’t want to be contacted at any time (see s.5 below).

  1. Legal basis

For the most part, we use legitimate interest as the legal basis to process client and prospective client information. As explained above, we are careful to make sure that you are in a relevant role at an organisation that could benefit from EduMates, or could benefit from working with EduMates, and so we have a legitimate interest in contacting you. The exception is when you contact us via our website and opt in to our newsletters. Then, our contact is based on consent as you have requested the information.

  1. Where 3MP will store your personal information
    1. The personal data that 3MP collects from you is processed and stored on the Hosting service Amazon Web Services (AWS) Inc.
    2. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although 3MP will do its best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our Website. Any transmission is at your own risk.


  1. Disclosure of your information
    1. Whilst 3MP collects and processes your personal data, it is also providing a licensed service to the Institution you are communicating with. As such, your personal data provided to us will be shared with the relevant licensed Institute for the purposes described above.
      1. Student Representatives: The Licensed institute will have access to your profile information and maybe authorised to change any information on the same with notice to you and your bio will be public for prospective students to identify you.
      2. Prospective students: We will share all your profile information with each Institute whose student representatives you interact with. However, your chat history will only be shared with the institution after the same has been anonymized.
    2. If 3MP is under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation or to protect the rights, property, or safety of 3MP, or others.
    3. 3MP may disclose your personal information to third parties, the court service and/or regulators or law enforcement agencies in connection with proceedings or investigations anywhere in the world where compelled to do so. Where permitted, 3MP will direct any such request to you or notify you before responding unless to do so would prejudice the prevention or detection of a crime.
  1. How long we keep your data

We’ll keep your data as long as is necessary to undertake the communications that are relevant to you (or in order to suppress communications if you have asked for this), and for as long as we believe it to be accurate and up to date, (and that you are an appropriate person for us to be in touch with as per section 1 above). We’ll ensure you receive instructions on how to change or remove your data regularly.

Our e-newsletters will always have an unsubscribe facility, if you unsubscribe, this will unsubscribe you from the e-newsletter only – we may still contact you on a 1-2-1 basis about relevant matters. If you would like us not to contact you at all, just send us an email and we’ll sort this out. This also applies if you would like to correct any information that we have got wrong or has changed, and if you would like us to delete your information altogether.

  1. What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

  1. Cookies & Cache use
    1. The user agrees that 3MP may be authorized to store the chat sessions/history had between the user and the current students and/or alumni from licensed institutes on the browser cache of the users, computer and/or mobile device, in order to make the same easily available and accessible to the user during the next chat session with the representative of the institution.
    2. The user may clear any chat sessions/history at any given time by clearing the browser cache, by clicking the option given on the interface at the time of exiting the said chat session.
    3. The user specifically agrees that in the event that the user is using the services provided by 3MP on a shared computer, the user will at the end of every chat session clear the chat session/history by clearing the browser cache, by clicking the option given on the interface at the time of exiting the said chat session.
    4. The user agrees that by clearing the said chat session/history, the user will lose all access to all the previous chat sessions/history had with any representative of the institution in the said browser unless they log in to the same via the link sent to the email address the user has provided to 3MP at the time of registering for the service.
  1. Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
